Day 1: Malindi day tour.
Today, after pick up from the airport, we travel to the northern coast of Kenya.
When visiting Gede Ruins you are taken into a time warp of the 12th century. This is a story of a Small Swahili settlement that served as a model township along the coast of East Africa. Evidence shows the sustainable growth of the original settlement to more in the 15th and 16th centuries as a result of increased population. The mosques, palaces, houses and other structures demonstrate the abundant growth of wealth that was enjoyed by the townspeople until the 15th century, and the mystery of the Gede lies in the ultimate abandonment of the fruitful and thriving town two centuries later.
Vasco da Gama, located on the sea front road along the beach, is a historical monument dating back to the 14th century. It was built by one of the greatest Portuguese explorer Vasco da Gama in 1498. The pillar was first erected at the sheiks house but later removed and re-erected where it is today. The pillar and the cross are both made from original Portuguese limestone material. The monument has become the most renowned attraction site for both local and international tourists visiting Malindi.
Day 2: Wasini Island day trip.
Today you will be picked from a central location at around 7.15 am and drive to Wasini Island along Mombasa – Lunga Lunga highway, a distance of 100 km, arriving at around 8.30 am. Kisite Marine national park is the second most famous marine park in the world after the Australian Marine Park. It covers an area of 30km2. Animals seen here include turtles, marine tortoise, bear reefs, coral reefs and different types of marine fishes.
You will have your lunch at a restaurant in Wasini Island which is mainly sea food and Swahili dishes. After lunch, you will sail along the mangrove swamps and then visit the Wasini Island where you will learn more about the Swahili people and the Arabs history.
Arrive at the jet at around 4.00 pm and drive back to the hotel.

Mamba Village, East Africa’s largest crocodile far. While touring the crocodile farm, your guide will enlighten you about the crocodile life cycle and behavior while you view live crocodiles of every size, from hatchlings to fully-grown adults.
